AWS Exam Retake Policy: What Happens If You Fail

Current Retake Policy

AWS allows you to retake any certification exam after a 14-day waiting period. There is no limit on the number of attempts, but each retake requires paying the full exam fee again. If you pass, you cannot retake the same exam for another two years (until recertification is due).

Waiting Period Between Attempts

• First retake: 14 days after the failed attempt
• Second retake: 14 days after the second attempt
• No maximum number of attempts
• Each attempt requires a new exam registration and payment

Cost of Retaking
